Lindsay Lohan served with foreclosure notice

Lindsay Lohan has been served with a foreclosure notice as U.S. bank bosses prepare to repossess the New York home where she has been living with her mother.

The "Mean Girls" star has been staying with her mom, Dina, at her mansion in Long Island, New York in recent weeks, but the property is currently at the centre of a financial storm.

Dina has reportedly fallen behind with mortgage payments, and even borrowed $40,000 from her famous daughter last year to help resolve the situation.

However, bosses at America's Chase Bank are still circling the property and served a legal notice, addressed to Lindsay and Dina, on Thursday.

The paperwork was taped to the property's front gate, according to the New York Post.

It is the latest in a long line of problems for the troubled actress, who is embroiled in a dispute over an allegedly unpaid tax bill, and is also facing allegations she lied to California police over a 2012 car crash.
